Ms Bhengu has earned a Certificate in Community Development on Change Management and a Certificate in Managing Economic Development Strategies. She has chaired both the Portfolio Committee on Infrastructure, Economic Development and Tourism and the Portfolio Committee on Provincial & Local Government, and has been a member of the Portfolio Committee on Sport & Recreation. Ms Bhengu also co-authored the book "Against The Wall" (2008).
