Mr De Lange was born on 15 January 1958. He obtained his BA in Law from the University of Stellenbosch (1978) and his LLB from University of Cape Town (1983). Mr De Lange was the former Deputy Minister for Justice and Constitutional Development (2004-09), was the Head of the Office of Criminal Justice Review (2006-09) and was Commissioner on the Judicial Service Commission (1996-04).
